If you thought 2025 couldn't get worse, 2025 just dealt its harshest blow yet to fans of "NCIS" star alums Michael Weatherly and Coté de Pablo.
The dynamic duo's TV return as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David in "NCIS: Tony & Ziva" has been canceled after Season 1, Paramount+ announced Dec. 19.
That's right, there will be no Season 2 of "Tony & Ziva," the fall series which featured the star couple known as Tiva on the run in Europe.
Weatherly, 57, and de Pablo, 46, couldn't muster any of their usual humor when commenting on the sad news in the Paramount+ release.

"NCIS: Tony & Ziva" has been cancelled after Season 1.
"We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva’s story," the actors said in a joint statement that gave thanks to the crew and cast. "But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after."
What happened to 'Tony & Ziva'?
There was plenty of happiness for the special agents who first met in 2005's Season 3 of "NCIS," who had not been together onscreen since 2013. Fans rejoiced when the Paramount+ reunion series was announced in February 2024. Every step of the series, from the show name announcement to July's ComicCon trailer reveal featuring a crowd wearing "Tiva Forever" hats, was an event.

Tony and Ziva definitely still had that famed chemistry when the 10-episode series premiered in September, featuring the couple trying to protect their daughter, Tali (Isla Gie), and each other in Europe. The reviews were solid and Ziva was even pictured in a wedding dress (even if it was a ruse).
Weatherly and de Pablo worked as executive producers with showrunner John McNamara and an international cast that included Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Terence Maynard, and James D’Arcy.
But viewer engagement and ratings dwindled as the show progressed. In October's Season 1 finale, the couple saved Tali and agreed to get together again.
So Tiva is happy, in love forever, and living in Paris, even if any wedding is on permanent pause. Season 1, of course, remains streaming on Paramount+, forever.
